The Nationwide Foundation
Each year 25% of our funding goes to the Nationwide Foundation.
This independent charity works to create lasting change to tackle disadvantage in the UK. Its vision is for everyone to have a decent home that they can afford.
Understand the difference we make
In 2007 our members voted to donate at least 1% of our pre-tax profits to charities.
Our social impact report shows how we spent our charitable donations in the previous year. In the 2023/24 financial year, this came to £15.5 million.
Money Lessons – financial education for school children
In partnership with the Visa Towns Fund, Nationwide has launched CPD accredited Financial Education training and ready-made lesson plans to help teachers build confidence in delivering money related lessons.
The training supports teachers to deliver Nationwide’s Money Lessons for Key Stages 2 and 3 (years 3 to 9, ages 7 to 14). It aligns with the Financial Education Framework and the PSHE and Citizenship parts of the Department for Education National Curriculum.
Committed to inclusion and diversity, Nationwide has designed all learning content to be Special Educational Needs friendly so every child can access financial education.
