A commitment to our members

We understand the role our branches, and our wonderful colleagues, play on high streets nationwide.

We believe there has never been a greater need to commit to supporting communities, and rebuilding society, than there is now. That’s why we’re extending the promise we made back in 2019 to at least 2024.

We keep our promises

We’ve been improving existing branches and opening new, more accessible ones. But, (and we’re afraid there’s always a ‘but’), just as with our initial promise, there will always be circumstances that make it impossible to keep a branch open.

However, our overall promise stands: to leave no town or city currently served by Nationwide Building Society without a branch.

Only this time, we’ve made our promise until 2024 at the very least.

Investing in our branches

We’ve listened to our members and introduced four areas, each designed to give you:

  • Convenience
    If you're in a rush, this is where you can do things quickly and easily. Whether it’s speaking to us at the counter, using a cash machine or logging into your online banking.

  • Conversation
    This part of the branch lets you get a little guidance, without the need to queue. We’re on hand to talk about everything, from digital banking to what you’ve got planned for the weekend.

  • Consultation
    Want to talk to us in more depth? We have quiet booths or private pods – whichever suits you.

  • Community
    This is a dedicated space for your community, where you can have a coffee while your little ones do some colouring in. Plus, you can read about Nationwide’s history and how we’re involved in your local area.
