Before you start your claim

Log in to Home Insurance Manager and check your customer schedule to make sure you’re covered and see your excess. Your excess is the amount you may be asked to pay towards your claim.

If your claim relates to an act of vandalism or theft, we’d recommend reporting it to the police first. You can then give us the crime reference number, if you’re given one.

Make non-urgent claims online

You can claim online if you have:

  • Buildings and contents insurance combined
  • Buildings insurance only
  • Contents insurance only.


Make urgent claims over the phone

Call as soon as possible if:

  • your home is unsafe or insecure
  • your home or possessions are being damaged
  • you’ve lost your main source of heating, lighting or water.

Home Emergency Cover claims

If you’ve added Home Emergency Cover to your policy, you’re covered for repairs up to £1,000.

We use a company called HomeServe to provide Home Emergency Cover.

If you’ve added Legal Services Cover to your policy, you’re covered for legal assistance worth up to £100,000 for claims covered by your policy.
