We’re introducing new cash deposit limits

From 29 July 2026, we are introducing £20,000 limits on the amount of cash you can pay in each year. These limits will be across your personal current accounts and savings accounts. And apply to wherever you pay in cash.

How they will work

For accounts held in your sole name, you can pay in £20,000 in total across all of them.

For joint accounts, each account will have its own £20,000 annual cash limit. This is shared between you and the other account holder.

For 2026, we will only count the money you pay in between 29 July and 31 December towards these limits.

These limits will then reset on 1 January 2027. And each year after that.
