Dementia UK Clinics
Our partnership has funded a team of Admiral Nurses across the UK. They support over 200 selected branches by offering free, confidential appointments.
We’re hosting clinics in over 200 branches
We’ve worked with Dementia UK to identify areas across the UK where there is a high level of need. Or where services are lacking. We’ve carefully chosen these branches based on a range of criteria including location, design and accessibility.
Dementia UK’s Admiral Nurses typically visit every 3 months. On each visit they will offer appointments up to 3 days a week.
To see if your local branch is hosting clinics, use our branch finder.
No clinic nearby? Check back in a few weeks. New clinic locations are advertised around a month in advance, so more may be added soon.
About your appointment
You’ll meet with an Admiral Nurse in a quiet and private space at your chosen Nationwide branch.
They’ll take the time to find out about your situation, answer any questions, and offer tailored advice and emotional support.
Your 45 minute appointment can be spent talking about anything. Including:
- getting a diagnosis
- understanding symptoms and changes in behaviour
- practical tips for carers
- choosing a home or residential care
- emotional support.
You don’t need to have a diagnosis to attend. And we welcome carers or family members attending to understand how they can support someone with dementia.
Once your appointment is over, you’ll leave with practical next steps and someone to turn to.
