Switch to paperless statements
Choosing to go paperless is a great way to help keep track of your money digitally. Instead of paper statements, we send digital messages letting you know when your statement is ready to view. Find out how to update your settings so you no longer receive paper statements or to change it back.
Why go paperless?
Going paperless helps keeps your statements and documents:
- More organised - you can access statements and documents online anytime
- Secure – only you can log-in and view
- Timely – you can get instant notifications, and we'll send you an email each month when your latest statement is ready to view. No waiting for the post.
- You'll also have access to the last 36 months of statements using the internet bank or banking app.
If it's a joint account, make sure all account holders are happy with the changes you make.
Can everything be paperless?
Some accounts are not yet available to go paper-free. These include:
- mortgages
- loans
What are Documents?
Documents are any letters we send about your account, excluding statements.
Change how you get statements
Follow these steps to go paperless. You can switch back at any time.
In the internet bank
Choose which accounts you want to change to paperless, or use the Stop all paper statements option.
- Log into the internet bank
- Choose the Manage my details & settings tab.
- Choose View or change my personal details.
- Within Marketing preferences, use the Change link.
- Choose Yes please or No thanks to select how you'd like to hear from us.
- Use the Update preferences button to save your settings.
Using the banking app
- Open the banking app.
- From the menu, choose Details & Settings.
- Choose Paperless Settings from the App settings menu.
- Choose Online to switch to paperless or By post to get paper statements. You can choose your preference for each account.
- You will be asked to check your email address, then confirm the paperless terms and conditions, to update your settings.
In person
If you don’t bank online with us, we can help you change your paperless settings at a branch or on the phone instead.

How can I view my statements and documents online?
When you have set up going paperless, your statements and documents appear in 'My Documents' in the internet bank or banking app.
View My Documents in the internet bank
- Log into the internet bank
- Choose the Manage my details & settings tab
- Choose My documents
