How we can help

If you closed your account on or after 2 February 2018, we can help you with online access to your historical statements dating back 5 years.

You may require access to these statements for several reasons, including:

  • to provide information when applying for credit, such as a mortgage or a loan
  • to compare fees and charges when shopping around for banking products.

Your historical statements, dating back 5 years from account closure, will be available online within 10 working days of closing your account.

You must register for online access to your historical statements within 6 months of your account closure.

This service became available on 2 February 2018 as a result of new regulations from the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) to provide you with clear and easy access to information.

Before you register

You will need to enter:

  • your date of birth
  • the account number*
  • the sort code*
  • your Nationwide customer number**

* You will find this information on the closing statement you received when you shut down your account. You will also find it on any statements you still have for the account you closed, or on any card you used for the account. Please note: if your account number has more than eight digits, please only enter the last eight digits of your number.

**This is the number you entered to access Nationwide’s Internet Bank (if you were registered as a user). If you are still a Nationwide member, you can find your customer number here. You can also find your customer number on any AGM voting information you have received from Nationwide. Alternatively, you can call us.
