How to cancel and close your credit card
You can close your credit card over the phone, but first you need to clear your balance to £0. If you only cut up your card, your account will stay open.

If you’re cancelling your credit card following a change to your interest rate, you can do this online. We would have sent you a letter about this.
Make sure you’re the main account holder
Only the main account holder can cancel and close a credit card.
Additional card holders cannot do this.
Before you can close your credit card
You’ll need to bring your credit card balance to £0 before you can close your credit card.

Over the phone
Make sure you have your credit card number with you.
After you’ve told us you want to close your credit card, cut up and safely dispose of your card.
Monday to Saturday, 8am to 8pm.
Sundays and bank holidays, 9am to 5pm.
