Unlike the big banks, we’re not closing our branches

We know branches are important to our customers. So, everywhere we have a branch, we promise to still be there until at least 2026*.

There may be circumstances outside of our control that mean we have to close a branch. But we will only do this if we don’t have another workable option.

We know that our customers still value speaking face-to-face alongside calling us or using our digital services. That's why we made our Branch Promise in March 2019. And why we have renewed it until at least 2026.

Investing in our branches

In our new open plan branches we’ve introduced 4 areas, each designed to give you:

  1. Convenience

If you're in a rush, this is where you can do things quickly and easily. Whether it’s speaking to us at the counter, using a cash machine or logging into your online banking.

  2. Consultation

Want to talk to us in more depth? We have quiet booths or private pods – whichever suits you.

  1. Conversation

This part of the branch lets you get a little guidance, without the need to queue. We’re on hand to talk about everything, from digital banking to what you’ve got planned for the weekend.

  2. Community

This is a dedicated space for your community, where you can have a coffee while your little ones do some colouring in. Plus, you can read about Nationwide’s history and how we’re involved in your local area.
