• Rates cut by up to 0.26% with Nationwide’s lowest rate now 3.78%

Nationwide is increasing its support for the new build sector by increasing the maximum loan-to-value (LTV) available for those looking to purchase a new build house from 85 per cent to 90 per cent – providing further support for the housebuilding sector and the government’s housing ambitions.

Nationwide will be reducing rates by up to 0.20 percentage points across its two, three and five-year fixed rate products with the new rates effective from tomorrow, Wednesday 14 August. Nationwide’s lowest mortgage rate now stands at 3.83%, which is available to any new and existing customers who are looking to move home.

Nationwide Building Society is today (19 July 2024) launching new issues of its Fixed Rate Online Bonds and Fixed Rate Branch Bonds paying increased rates.

Effective from tomorrow, Tuesday 9 July, Nationwide Building Society will be reducing selected rates by up to 0.30 percentage points, with rates now starting from 4.18%. The new rates include:

• Half (44%) of holidaymakers risk travelling minus cover, with one in eight (13%) admitting to never getting any
• This compares with just 2% of motorists risking driving without any insurance, according to industry data
• Despite travel insurance being optional, people can be left significantly out of pocket without adequate cover
• Only 27% secure travel insurance when booking their holiday while 17% never read the policy documents
