How to close your current account
Before we help you close your account, why not see if some of our other current accounts suits you better? It's easy to switch and we have a range of accounts available.
Moving abroad? If you’re moving to a country in the EU or EEA and want to move your banking there too, we can help.
It's easy to register for internet banking, and only takes 5 minutes.
You can also close your account by visiting us in branch. Just remember to bring proof of identify, as well as any account cards, passbooks and certificates.
We'll still keep in touch and send you correspondence – even if your account is empty. If you don't want us to, you can ask us to close your account.
Any money left in your account will be sent to your registered address by cheque. You can check if your address is up-to-date by logging in to the Internet Bank, or by visiting us in branch.
