Applying with a British Forces Post Office (BFPO) address?

When you apply for a Limited Access Online Saver account, you'll need what's called a 'nominated account'. This can be a Nationwide current or savings account, or a UK current account with another provider. You'll use it for withdrawals, or if you choose to close your Limited Access Online Saver account

Confirming your nominated account

If your nominated account isn't held with us, we run a check with a credit agency to make sure it belongs to you. Don't worry – this won't affect your credit score. Confirming you're the owner of your nominated account is one of the ways we help to keep your money safe.

If you choose to use a UK current account held with another provider as your nominated account, this check with the credit agency may fail if they don't have sufficient records linked to the BFPO address you have given us.

What you need to do

How you open a Limited Access Online Saver account when you have a BFPO address, depends on whether or not you're already with us.

Existing Nationwide customer?

You can apply for our Limited Access Online Saver through our Internet Bank or Banking App and you can use an existing Nationwide current or savings account for your 'nominated account' if you have one.

Apply for our Limited Access Online Saver

Not registered for our Internet Banking? You can still apply for Limited Access Online Saver via our secure application form where you can also register for the Internet Bank.

If you intend to use an account held with another provider as your nominated account and your BFPO address isn't recognised by the credit agency, you can apply for our Limited Access Saver account instead. It doesn't need a nominated account and can still be managed through our Internet Bank and Banking app. You just need to pop into your nearest Nationwide branch to apply. Alternatively, you could choose another account from our savings range.

New to Nationwide?

As a new customer, you are welcome to open a Limited Access Online Saver and use a UK current account as your nominated account. However, if the BFPO address fails the credit agency check, you will need to apply for one of our current or savings accounts, then use this as the nominated account for your new Limited Access Online Saver account.
