Never give out your passcodes, or full log in or banking details
Nationwide will never ask you to tell us your full one-time codes, memorable data, passnumber or codes from your card reader. If anyone asks, always say no.
Don't open the app from a link
Always log in to the app by using the trusted icon on your device. We’ll never prompt you to log in to the Nationwide Banking app by using a link in an email or webpage.
Be careful with shared devices
If your shared device has Touch ID, remember that any fingerprints that are registered on that device can be used to open the app and access your accounts.
De-register old or lost devices and return them to factory settings
If you lose your phone or it’s stolen, it’s important to de-register the device as soon as possible. Similarly, if you have a new device, remember to de-register your old one and return it to factory settings before passing it on, selling or recycling it.
To de-register a device in the Banking app: go to the main menu, then select ‘Details & settings’ then ‘Manage devices’
To de-register a device in the Internet Bank: select the Manage tab, then ‘My security’ and then ‘Manage devices’
Simply deleting the app alone won’t de-register your device.
