Sometimes, we may request a little more information before we can confirm your loan offer. For example, we may need proof of income or confirm the identity of a joint applicant. These requests could be for you or the joint applicant. In some cases we may need information from both of you. Be aware we only accept certain types of documents when you respond to a request to prove:


  • Your identity
  • Your right to live and work in the UK
  • Your income

What happens next

To proceed with the loan we need to have received your proof documents and your signed Personal Loan Agreement within 30 days from  the date of your application. We’ll check your documents to make sure you’re still eligible and if you are, we’ll pay the funds into your chosen account.

If you’ve chosen to pay the funds into a Nationwide current account it usually takes up to 2 hours.

If you’ve chosen a Nationwide savings account, it usually takes up to 1 working day.

For any other account, it usually takes 3-5 working days.
