Register your Income Protection Benefit claim by calling or emailing Legal & General.

Please continue to pay your premiums while your claim gets assessed.

How to make a claim

  • 1 Register your claim with Legal & General

    Call or email them with your policy number, your diagnosis and your GP's contact details.

  • 2 Get a claim form by post

    Legal & General will send you a claim form after you register your claim.

  • 3 Fill in and post back your form

    Complete and send back the claim form to the address given on the form.

  • 4 Have your claim assessed

    Once Legal & General receive the form, they’ll assess your claim; this may include writing out to the GP, employer or any other involved parties for additional information.

  • 5 Get a decision

    Legal & General will tell you if your claim gets accepted or not, and explain the next steps.

Waiver of premium claims

Waiver of Premium may cover your monthly payments, after 26 weeks if you can't work due to sickness or injury. Let Legal & General know if you think you'll need to make a claim. The earlier you tell them, the more they can help.

You’ll need to let them know:

  • your policy number
  • the reason you've been unable to work
  • how long you've been unable to work.

Call as soon as possible, and Legal & General will talk you through the next steps.
