What should I do if I don’t recognise a payment on my account?

Check the name of the company collecting the payment

Businesses sometimes have more than one name, so you might not recognise the company collecting the payment. Use our list of common trading names to see if it’s actually a shop or company you know.

If it’s a joint account

It could be a payment made by the other account holder, so just double check with them, to see if they recognise the payment.
