I've forgotten my passnumber

This is the 6-digit number you use to log into the Banking app or Internet Bank. It's different to your customer number, which is 10 digits long.

For security reasons, we can't remind you of your passnumber, so you'll need to change it. There are a few ways to do this:

Change your passnumber in the Banking app, using your card reader

  1. Open the Banking app - on the login screen, tap 'forgotten passnumber' in the bottom left corner.
  2. Using your card and card reader, follow the on-screen instructions to change your passnumber.

Hints and tips:

Any bank or building society's card reader will work, as long as it accepts your debit card - it's equally safe and secure.

  1. Select the ‘Manage my details and settings’ tab.
  2. Select 'View or change my security settings'.

Don't have a card reader or forgotten all your login details?

As long as you haven't registered for internet banking in the last seven days, you can reset your passnumber – and retrieve your customer number – by re-registering.

You'll need:


  • Your account details

We will send you two codes, one by text message and one by email. Codes expire after 10 minutes and can be resent a maximum of three times.

If you can't receive the codes, we'll be able to post your details instead.
