Compare funds using Key Investor Information Documents

Before you invest, we recommend reading the Key Investor Information Document (KIID). This helps you compare funds and make an informed decision about the fund you’re interested in.

All investment funds are summarised using a Key Investor Information Document (KIID). To make it easy to compare investment options, each KIID has the same 5 sections. Here’s what they are and why you need to read them before you invest.

This section describes the fund’s goals so you can see if they match what you’re looking for.

Fund goals can be to provide:

• growth in value
• a regular income
• both income and growth.

This section shows you where a fund stands on the risk-return scale. The scale ranges from 1 to 7, with 1 being the lowest risk and 7 being the highest. Please note, we rate risk on a scale of 1 to 5.

Typically, the higher the risk, the higher your potential gains. But higher potential rewards also mean a greater chance of losing money. It's important to understand what your own attitude to risk is, so you can pick a fund that matches it.

Here you’ll find a fund's charges and fees, which can include:

• the entry charge for buying shares and assets
• any exit charge when selling
• the annual management fee to cover ongoing charges
• whether the fund manager charges additional fees under certain conditions.

Our funds don't have entry, exit or performance charges.

This shows you how much a fund has gained or lost in value each year. It usually shows the past 5 or 10 years, but it may show less if the fund is new to the market.

Past performance can be a helpful indicator. It may show you that a fund’s returns tend to be steady or change along with the market’s ups and downs. It can also give you some idea of whether a fund manager is outperforming other managers who run similar funds.
