Introducing our new, accessible eco cards
We’re passionate about supporting our members to bank more easily and reducing our environmental impact. That’s why we’ve launched new, recycled eco cards that are also designed to help people with visual impairments. Find out more and how to get one here.

What are Dot and Notch eco cards?
All our new adult cards, both debit and credit, now have raised embossing (‘dots’) and a small cut-out (‘notch’) on one side.
We’ve done this to help people with visual impairments tell which card they’re using and which end to put into their card reader or cash machines quickly and easily. For example, our debit cards now have 6 dots, so you can tell which card is which. It’s just one of the ways we’re working to make banking with us more accessible.
To make sure we’re doing things right, we’ve worked closely with the Royal National Institute for the Blind (RNIB). And we’re proud to say they’re the first cards in the UK to show the RNIB’s Tried and Tested certification.
Our new cards are also more environmentally friendly. They’re made of 85.5% recycled plastic and manufactured through a process that’s 100% carbon neutral. And we’re working towards using 100% recycled plastic. Because it’s right for us, our members and our planet.
How to get a new Dot and Notch eco card
If you’re an adult who is visually impaired, you can request one of our new cards any time. Your card doesn’t need to have expired. Just visit your local branch or call us on 03457 30 20 11 (we’re available Monday to Saturday, 8am to 6pm).
If you’re already getting our emails and letters in an accessible format like large print, audio or braille, we’ll contact you about our new cards and how to order one soon.
We’ll also be sending all our adult current account and credit card members a Dot and Notch eco card if you lose your card, it’s stolen or it expires.
We’re working hard to develop these new cards for our other accounts. This includes our youth accounts (FlexOne, FlexStudent and FlexGraduate) as well as our savings accounts.
Did you know our cash machines can talk to you?
Wherever you are in the country, all our branch cash machines can read out what’s on screen and talk you through how to use them.
This is really useful if you or anyone you know ever has trouble reading the screen.
Just plug in your own headset or earphones and the machine will begin speaking. This means it’s always discrete and secure.
