Why use Illness and Injury Insurance?

Illness and Injury Insurance could pay out if you become ill or injured and can’t work as a result. Giving you peace of mind, should the unexpected happen.

  • Peace of mind
Illness and Injury Insurance could help you prepare for the unexpected. Especially if you’re self-employed or your employer offers a limited sick-pay scheme. You can also cancel any time, at no cost.

  • Tax-free monthly pay outs
Monthly pay outs are tax free. Cover available for up to 60% of your monthly earnings before tax, capped at £2,000 a month.

  • Affordable cover with short-term pay outs
Pay outs start after a waiting period of 4 weeks – and are in arrears.

  • Apply online
You can get a quote and arrange your cover online - there’s no need to book an appointment.

Note:

  • Terms, limits and exclusions that apply are explained in the Policy Summary – PDF 2MB (opens in a new window)
  • If you're self-employed when you claim, and have been earning for less than 12 months, cover will only be available for up to 35% of your monthly earnings, capped at £2,000.

Restrictions

Illness and Injury Insurance is designed to give you simple, income protection insurance. It does not include:

  • Unemployment cover
This policy only pays out if you’re off work due to illness or injury.

  • Cover for over 60s
Any policy you take out will end on your 60th birthday. However, our Income Protection Benefit can provide cover until you're 70 years old.

  • The full range of income protection options
This product may not be for you if you’re looking for flexible cover, long-term pay outs, or pay outs over £2,000 a month. Instead, consider Income Protection Benefit.

  • Financial advice
Illness and Injury Insurance is only available to buy online - without financial advice. This means you need to understand that you're responsible for the cover you choose.
