Mr Cooper was a big enthusiast and life-long advocate for the co-operative movement. His dream was to make the aspirational achievable for the working class people of London.

The idea of a Mutual Society that enabled people to save and borrow money to afford a home of their own was a solution built first and foremost on the needs of the people. 

Life has changed quite drastically since then and 130 years later we’re still achieving more together than we ever could alone.
