What Open Banking means to us

We believe the increased choice and freedom that Open Banking presents to consumers is great for Nationwide’s members and for innovation across our industry. Our members are at the heart of everything we do – so we’re excited about Open Banking’s potential to improve the services we can offer them.

We’ve collaborated with others in our industry to create standardised Open Banking APIs in response to the CMA Order. These will create opportunities for Third Party Providers to offer new services underpinned by secure technologies. We're also looking to work with the developer community by creating enhanced development capabilities and a test environment.

The APIs we’ve delivered so far are just the start of the journey. More will be added over time, and we’ll also be enhancing these initial APIs in the coming months.
