If you have European travel insurance with your FlexAccount, you’ll have received a letter or email from us letting you know that we’ll be removing this benefit from 31 December 2021.

Emergency claims 

If you get ill or have an accident while you're abroad, please call us as soon as possible. Let us know that you are a Nationwide FlexAccount customer.

Our emergency assistance provides 24-hour European emergency travel cover. It includes medical assistance when you're travelling outside the UK.

Nationwide FlexAccount travel insurance is provided by U K Insurance Limited, so they will be looking after your claim for you.

What happens next

Our experienced team in the UK will help with your enquiry. Most of our staff can speak several languages, so they can talk to the doctors and hospital staff abroad. They’ll make sure:

  • hospitals are contacted and necessary fees are guaranteed.
  • medical advisers are consulted about your return journey to the UK.
  • you get medical help when you reach the UK, if you need it.

You can also call us for information about emergency health matters when travelling abroad.

Non-emergency claims

For a non-emergency related claim, please contact U K Insurance Limited. If you have two policies, you should let both insurers know about the claim at the same time.

Make a non-emergency claim online

You can manage your FlexAccount travel insurance policy online using the U K Insurance travel insurance portal. From the portal, you'll be able to make and check on outstanding claims. Please be advised that only claims logged from 22 March 2021 will be available on the portal. For claims logged before this date, instructions are provided on the portal for how to progress these.

How to register for the travel insurance portal

To register with and access the portal, you'll need your FlexAccount current account details. For joint account holders, you'll need to register separately and use the address and personal data on your FlexAccount current account when registering.
