Terms and conditions

  • The Promoter of the competition is Nationwide Building Society, Nationwide House, Pipers Way, Swindon, SN38 1NW (“the Promoter”).
  • The competition is open to all UK residents aged 3 to 17 and where necessary must have permission from a parent or guardian to enter.
  • The competition is free to enter, and no purchase is necessary.
  • To enter this competition you, as entrant or parent/guardian of entrant, will need to provide us with the entrant’s coin design either in the template provided or on a blank piece of paper. To enter into this competition entrants must go on to the Nationwide website page and submit their design along with the accompanying contact criteria. If the entrant is under 14 years of age a parent/guardian will need to submit the entry on their behalf and therefore we will need to collect data about them too. We will need the child’s and parent’s/guardian’s name, child’s age, parent’s/guardian’s email address, telephone number, address and postcode, child’s favourite England player, football team child supports, child’s grassroots football team if applicable and child’s description of what respect means to them along with an explanation of their design.
  • Only one entry per persons ages 3 to 17 is permitted.
  • Entrants must only submit appropriate content, and the Promoter reserves the right to discount any contribution which it deems to be inappropriate.
  • The competition will run from Wednesday April 7th 2021 at 9:00am until Saturday 20th June 2021 at 11:59pm. Entries received after this time will not be accepted.
  • The Promoter accepts no responsibility for entries not successfully completed or submitted due to a technical fault of any kind.
  • Eleven entrants will be short listed with their design entries by a panel of judges from Nationwide Building Society, The Football Association plus an independent judge against the criteria below. A winner will then be chosen via public vote from the eleven short listed entries.
    • The overall design of the coin
    • What respect means to the entrant
    • How well mutual respect is incorporated into their design
    • Entrants have completed relevant fields on entry form
  • The entrant must own the copyright in any images they submit in the competition and must ensure that such images do not infringe the copyright of any third party or any laws.
  • Eleven entrants will be short listed. Short listed entrants will receive a stadium tour for themselves and one accompanying parents/guardian which will be catered.
  • The winning entrant will receive x2 tickets (must include x1 adult) to attend an upcoming Senior England team home game and a physical copy of the coin once made. Dates for fixtures cannot be confirmed and will follow according to fixtures and earliest permittable return of crowds to stadiums. The coin will be posted to their home address.
  • The short listed eleven entrants will be notified via email within 14 days of the closing date. The shortlisted entries, along with their first name and age, will be used publicly to promote the public vote for a design to win. The entrant or entrant’s parent/guardian will be asked to complete a consent form and return to us directly at (CoinForRespect@nationwide.co.uk) before this happens . Should this not be agreed, unfortunately another entrant will have to be short listed.
  • Shortlist announced week commencing 19th July 2021 and voting will close week commencing 2nd August 2021.
  • The winner will be notified week commencing 2nd August 2021.
  • The winner will be announced week commencing 9th August 2021.
  • The Promoter will make two attempts (via email provided at entry) to contact the short listed entrant. If you do not respond to the Promoter within 10 days of being notified by the Promoter, then the shortlisted entrants prize will be forfeited, and the Promoter will be entitled to select another entrant in accordance with the process described above.
  • The Promoter will make two attempts (via email provided at entry) to contact the winning entrant. If you do not respond to the Promoter within 10 days of being notified by the Promoter, then the winner entrants prize will be forfeited, and the Promoter will be entitled to select another winner in accordance with the process described above.
  • The winning entrants will receive their prize within 90 days of providing us with their address and the tour will be dependent upon crowds being allowed back into stadiums for winning and shortlisted entrants.
  • The prizes are non-exchangeable, non-transferable and no cash alternative is offered.
  • The Promoter reserves the right to replace the prize with an alternative prize of equal or higher value if circumstances beyond the Promoter’s control make it necessary to do so.
  • The decision of the Promoter regarding any aspect of the prize draw is final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into about it.
  • Prizes can be withdrawn at the Promoters discretion if false information is provided.
  • Details of the winners’ first names and region can be provided upon written request should their parent/guardian consent to it. Please write to CoinForRespect@nationwide.co.uk.
  • Personal data supplied in the submission email during this promotion will be used for the sole purpose of delivering the prize and is not linked to any accounts you may hold with us. All information held from entries will be deleted upon closing of the coin campaign. Designs of the coin will be shared with the judging panel, but the data collected will not be. Shortlisted entrants’/winner’s names, age and region will be shared with the FA only if the consent form outlined above is received.
  • The coin is not legal tender and cannot be used as legal tender.
