Making the difficult conversations easy

When the member, visited our Eastbourne branch to sort out his mother’s power of attorney, he thought things might be quite difficult. That’s because it had been set up prior to him transitioning.

The power of attorney had been set up in his old name. That meant the member would have to show his old passport, name and pictures. This can be very awkward for members of the transgender community.

Thankfully Bruce Steadman, Customer Service Manager, ensured there was no awkwardness. Bruce, promotes an attitude of fairness and respect amongst his team.

They helped with no fuss.

He was so happy about how the team handled things he praised them on Twitter.

The member also contacted us to say, ‘A massive thank you to Nationwide for making the experience really painless. And for being a great example of how to treat transgender clients’.
