Important Announcement for Microsoft Money users – 22 October 2009

The last full UK release of Microsoft Money was in 2005. Since then, Microsoft have carried out no development work on the software. In addition, Microsoft no longer offer any technical support on this product in the UK and this has significantly impacted on our ability to resolve customer queries relating to the software. Regrettably, we withdrew the support service on our Internet Bank for Microsoft Money on 22 October 2009.

Remember you can still use our Internet banking service to view your statements, opt out of paper statements, pay bills and transfer your money instantly. You can also view and manage your credit card, mortgage and overdraft.

FAQs

1. Why have you ended support for MS Money?

The last full UK release of Microsoft Money was in 2005. Since then, Microsoft have carried out no development work on the software. In addition, Microsoft no longer offer any technical support on this product in the UK and this has significantly impacted on our ability to resolve customer queries relating to the software. We are increasingly finding that considerable resource is being directed to dealing with queries, but with no support from Microsoft, it is often not possible for us to resolve the problems customers have. For all these reasons, we have taken the difficult decision to withdraw the service.

3. Can I continue to use MS Money with my accounts even though you’ve ended support?

We’ll no longer be providing the background banking facility you’ll be used to as a Microsoft Money user. You’ll still be able to download your statement as a .csv file from our Internet Bank, but in order to import it for use with Microsoft Money you’ll need to convert it to an .ofx file. There are tools available on the Internet for this, but we’ll be unable to offer you any technical support.

Unfortunately, as we’ll no longer be supporting the use of Microsoft Money with our Internet Banking service, we won’t be able to offer you any support if you have any problems using the software. The Microsoft website has user guides for various editions of the Money software available here.
