What is Identity Theft Assistance?

What help will I get if I'm a victim of fraud?

Your case worker will:

  • Contact the fraud protection organisation, CIFAS, to make them aware and request that lenders ask for more information if someone tries to use your name to get credit
  • Give you letter templates so you can write to organisations about your identity theft
  • Let you know how to get a copy of your credit report
  • Advise on what you should tell the police.

As soon as your FlexPlus account is opened. If you’re switching from another Nationwide current account, you’re covered as soon as you’ve completed the application.

What is Worldwide Emergency Card Assistance?

  • If your cards are lost or stolen, with one call you can cancel them and order replacements
  • You can use the service any time, day or night, 365 days a year
  • You can ask us to use our CIFAS protective registration service to let other banks and lending organisations know you might be at risk of fraud
  • Card assistance is available for up to nine other people living at your permanent home address

What cards are covered?

We can cancel all your debit and credit cards, not just the Nationwide ones. Make sure you register them with us – call 0800 11 88 55.
