Applying with a British Forces Post Office (BFPO) address?

When you apply for a Limited Access Online Saver account, you need what’s called a ‘nominated account’. This is either a UK current account with another provider, or a Nationwide current or savings account. You’ll use it for withdrawals or when you close the account.

Confirming your nominated account

If your nominated account isn’t held with us, we run a check with a Credit Bureau to make sure the account belongs to you. Don’t worry – this won’t affect your credit score. Confirming you’re the owner of your nominated account is one of the ways we help to keep your money safe.

BFPO postcodes

Unfortunately, the Credit Bureau we use for this ownership check doesn’t recognise BFPO addresses that don't include a postcode. This means that if your nominated account isn’t a Nationwide account – and your BFPO address is in the old format – we won’t be able to complete your application for a Limited Access Online Saver.

What you need to do

How you open a Limited Access Online Saver account with a BFPO address depends on whether or not you’re already with Nationwide.
