If you’re locked out of Internet Banking or have forgotten your login details, how you reset them depends on whether you have a card and card reader, or not.

If you enter your login details incorrectly three times, you’ll be locked out from using your passnumber and memorable data to log in.

If you have a card and card reader

You can still log in to the Internet Bank using your card and card reader, and then reset your Passnumber and/or memorable data.

To reset your passnumber and/or memorable data, log in and:

  • Select 'Manage'
  • Find 'My security'
  • Select 'View or change my security settings'
  • Find 'My passnumber / memorable data'
  • Choose 'Change'
  • Update your details
  • If you don't have a card and card reader

    You'll need to re-register to get a new customer number and passnumber. We’ll post these to you within  3-5 working days.

    Don’t log in until you get your new customer number and passnumber (even if you later remember your original details) as re-registering cancels your existing login details. So if you use them your account will be locked out, which will also invalidate the new details that are on the way to you in the post.

    To log in, you'll need your:

    or your:

    • customer number (if you’ve forgotten it, use our customer number look up tool)
    • 6 digit passnumber (if you enter it incorrectly 3 times, you'll be locked out)
    • memorable data - a date, place and name you chose when registering (you only need 1 out of the 3 to log in).
