How can I pay money into my savings account?

Deposit cheques into your account by first class post

On the Internet Bank or Telephone Banking

By bank credit/automated payment.

By cash/cheque (at some cash machines only) or transfer from another Nationwide account at any Nationwide branch.

How do I withdraw money from my savings account?

You can make withdrawals from your InvestDirect account at any time:

  • withdraw up to £300 in cash per day at any Nationwide or LINK ATM
  • transfer up to £50,000 per day (£250 minimum per transfer) to another Nationwide account on the Internet Bank or Telephone Banking
  • request cheques up to the value of £500,000 (£250 minimum) by first class post.
How do I keep track of my savings?

Full statements are issued annually in October, a quarterly statement is issued if there are any transactions made using your cash card during that quarter. Full statements are available on the Internet Bank. You can access mini-statements at Nationwide ATM's and through Telephone Banking.

Can I check my account and transfer money online?

You can:

  • view your balance by signing on to Nationwide's Internet Bank
  • view your statement
  • make instant transfers to other Nationwide accounts (£250 minimum)
  • receive instant transfers from other Nationwide card based accounts
When is my interest paid?

Interest is calculated daily and credited on 30 September. Alternatively, interest can be paid into another Nationwide savings account (excluding Regular Savings) or your current account.

How do I request a new stationery pack?

You can order stationery by contacting our 24-hour call centre on 08457 30 20 10.

You should receive your stationery within seven working days.

I'm entitled to receive gross interest – but how do I arrange this?

You need to complete and return an R85 form.

How do I change my name or address?

There are forms available online to change your name or address. These can be found within 'Other Services' on your Internet Bank. Alternatively you can pop into your local branch.
