e-Savings - how to open an account
Click the link below that best describes you:
-
- Before you can open an e-Savings you will need to open a FlexAccount (Nationwide's current account) so that you can transfer money in and out of your e-Savings account.
-
It's easy to open an e-Savings account with Nationwide if you're already an Internet Banking user:
- Log on to the Internet Bank and go to your FlexAccount online statement
- Click the 'Activate e-Savings' button on the left, tell us how much you'd like to transfer and confirm you're a UK resident
- Then just click the 'ACTIVATE' button
The account may take up to 5 days to show on the Internet Banking system, although your savings will start to earn interest from the day of the deposit.
-
- To be able to activate an e-Savings account, first you need to register for our Internet Banking service
- Complete the online registration form
- When your registration details arrive, sign in and activate your e-Savings account as detailed in the section above
IMPORTANT PLEASE NOTE:
Opening your FlexAccount and registering for Internet Banking DOES NOT automatically open an e-Savings account. To open an e-Savings account you must follow the steps detailed in the section 'I have a Nationwide Current Account and I am an Internet Banking user' above.
The e-Savings account will be in the same names (joint or sole) as the FlexAccount.
This account is operated via the internet bank only. Branches cannot administer it for you.
