Treasurer's Trust

Managing your account

If you have any questions about managing your Treasurer's Trust account, check the frequently asked questions below to see if we can help (just click the question and the answer will appear underneath):

How do I pay money into my account?

Simply take your payment to a Nationwide branch and pay over the counter. Cash deposits will earn interest from the day of deposit.

If paying in coins, please ensure they are correctly sorted. We cannot accept more than £10 in change in any one day.

You can pay up to £5,000 a day in notes. Again, please ensure they are correctly sorted.

Cheques paid in will start earning you interest at the start of the 2nd day following the day of deposit.

If you expect to pay in more than ten cheques per day, you can make an arrangement with your branch manager.

How do I withdraw money from my account?

Simply bring your passbook along to your branch and complete a withdrawal slip. The slip will require all the signatures specified when you opened your account.

You can withdraw up to £500 in cash per day. If you need to withdraw more than this please contact your branch to make a special arrangement.

You can withdraw up to £100,000 a day in the form of a Nationwide cheque. If you need to withdraw any more than this, the cheque may take a few days to arrange.

There are no charges for cash and cheque withdrawals.

When is interest paid?

Interest will be paid into your account twice a year, on the 30 June and 31 December.

I am entitled to receive interest gross, how can I arrange this?

As a club, society or charity, the interest you earn may qualify to be paid tax-free (gross). Nationwide employees can't advise on tax matters, but your local tax office will be able to advise you whether you are eligible to receive gross interest.

If you are eligible, you will need to complete a C222 form and provide evidence of tax free eligibility (e.g. a letter from the Charity Commission addressed to you).
