Start your remortgage application

If you're comfortable choosing a mortgage without our advice, you can apply online at your own pace.

You need to understand that you're responsible for the mortgage you choose. You'll get no advice from us, so you won't be protected if you later decide the mortgage you chose wasn't suitable.

It takes 20-35mins on average to complete this application

Proving your income

For everything you need to know about the proofs of income we may need to see, take a look at our Good Proofs Guide.

You can't apply online if you're applying for one of our Family Deposit Mortgages, or if your mortgage term will take you beyond retirement age.

Think carefully before securing other debts against your home. Your mortgage is secured on your home, which you could lose if you do not keep up your mortgage repayments.

Mortgages are subject to underwriting and criteria. Minimum age 18, UK residents only.

Choose to apply by phone and we'll go through your income and outgoings with you to give you our Decision in Principle (DIP). Have details of your expenditure and earnings to hand when you call us.

We'll then arrange an appointment for you to complete your full application with one of our Mortgage Consultants. They'll advise you on what's best for you, and help you complete your application.

It typically takes up to 45 minutes to get a DIP

What happens after you've applied

First, we'll value your home

  • We'll complete a valuation of your property while we review your application and documents. This could take up to a few weeks.
  • Once your home's valued, we'll send you your remortgage offer. We'll keep you updated by text or email if you've asked us to.
First stage of timeline

We can help with the legal stuff

  • You'll need a conveyancer to pay off your existing mortgage with the money we lend you, and to update the details at Land Registry.
  • Do your research of both local and national conveyancing firms, but remember you could always use the £500 cashback from us as a helping hand towards the cost of conveyancing. See our Terms and Conditions.
Second stage of timeline

Next, you'll need to review your offer

  • Go through our offer and tell your conveyancer if you're happy to continue.
  • You'll have at least 7 days to think about whether the mortgage meets your needs before going ahead.
Third stage of timeline

Congratulations, that's it!

  • We'll send you a welcome letter roughly 10 days after your remortgage is complete, telling you when your first payment is due.
  • You can then decide how to manage your mortgage, and keep an eye on your repayments using our Internet bank.
