You can cover products that are designed for use within the home (including portable personal items) that are normally connected to the mains electricity/gas supply or powered by batteries or rechargeable cell and which are used for domestic non-commercial purposes.

The following are excluded from cover;

• computer and home office equipment, whether in a home office or not:
  PC’s, laptops, hand held computing devices, computer peripherals, printers, scanners, all in ones (combined printer scanner copier), webcams, external hard drives, routers, fax machines and photocopiers;
• central heating components;
• home security components;
• personal communications equipment (mobile phones, blackberries and other personal communications equipment);
• powered garden equipment;
• powered garage equipment; and any goods with a purchase price over £5,000
