A night of success at the Card & Payments Awards 2013 has seen Nationwide Building Society achieve high praise and three awards for its credit card, service and practice.
Nationwide was triumphant in the Best New Credit Card category with its Select Credit Card. The judges praised the way Nationwide had achieved 'market-leading status across a substantial range of measurements'.
The Building Society also picked up the award for Best Achievement in Customer Service, in recognition of extensive work on improving the overall experience of customers.
Nationwide also won the award for the Most Responsible Credit Card Lending Practices award for a sixth successive year. The comments from the judges were that Nationwide 'just do this kind of thing so well - it is in [their] makeup".
Paul Carvell, Head of Credit Card, said: "These awards are the Oscars of the credit card industry and I am immensely proud at how successful we have been this year in the face of intense competition from all the leading credit card providers.
"To be recognised as the most responsible lender once again, coupled with our awards for customer service and best credit card is not only a demonstration of how we are on our customers' side, but equally recognition that we are now a major credit card provider and challenger brand in this market."
The Card & Payments Awards recognises customer service, excellence and innovation in the UK and Irish card and payments industries. They are judged by an independent panel of industry experts.
