Sharedealing

If you're thinking about buying or selling stocks and shares, we're here to help

The Sharedealing service available through Nationwide gives you the ability to trade in various different investments on the stockmarket, each with individual features and benefits.

By using the Sharedealing service, you’ll have the opportunity to invest directly in the stockmarket both in the UK and overseas, and you can pick and choose companies that you want to invest in, even create your own Sharedealing portfolio.

How investing in the stock market works

The stockmarket allows companies to raise money by selling stock in a business to public and institutional investors. Investors buy stock in the form of shares, which present a proportion of a company’s assets and earnings. Companies listed in the stockmarket are Public Limited Companies (PLC’s).

Each individual share is a small stake in a company. In general terms, when a company does well, the share rises in value. Conversely, if the company performs badly, the share falls in value.

So whether you’re an experienced investor or new to stocks and shares we can offer access to a service to suit you.
