Managing your existing funds

If you're an existing Nationwide investment customer, the way in which you can make changes to your investment will depend on whether your customer number is eight digits long, and starts with a '50'.

  • If your customer number starts with a '50', please read 'Managing your IPS investment'
  • If your customer number doesn't start with a '50' please read 'Managing you non-IPS investment'

Managing your IPS investment

If you have an investment as part of the Investor Portfolio Service your Client Reference will be eight digits long and start with 50 e.g. 50xxxxxx.

It is easy to top up or switch the current range of IPS funds online. If you are unsure about the funds you may want to invest in, please view the current fund range.

Already registered for IPS - If you are already registered for the online service, you can log in here to manage your investment. Please make sure you have your debit card to hand as you will need this if you want to make a top up payment.

Not yet registered for IPS - If you have not yet registered for this service, you can still top up online. Please make sure you have your debit card to hand as you will need this if you want to make a top up payment. If you want to switch your funds online, you will need to register for the service first.

Please note: Making changes to the services listed below are currently unavailable via the online IPS.

  • Existing jointly held investments
  • The Portfolio Bond product
  • Funds that we no longer offer as part of our current product range
  • Setting up a regular premium

In these circumstances please either use this letter template or this Portfolio Bond top up form to advise Legal & General of the changes you want to make.

Please ensure you have read the latest version of the:

General Key Features IPS, Fund Key Features IPS and commission information.

Portfolio Bond Key features, Portfolio Bond Funds Key features and Portfolio Bond Guide.

If your fund is not mentioned in the latest version of the Funds Key Features, please contact Legal & General who will be able to provide you with a copy of the relevant documents.

Cash Account explained

In November 2011, a new feature, Cash Account, was added to IPS. In addition to the functionality previously available, you are now able to:

  • Temporarily hold cash alongside your investment funds, helping you manage money in and between your investment funds
  • Collect your income payments made at different times throughout the month in one place, and credit your nominated bank account on the 7th business day of the month. This is known as ‘Consolidated Monthly Income’
  • Sell your investments online. The proceeds will be credited to your Cash Account
  • View all transactions made using the Cash Account online in ‘Transaction history’ available when you are logged into IPS

Please note: You can still use your debit card to add to your investment funds

Moving money to your Cash Account

Online

You can move money from your bank account into your IPS Cash Account once your nominated bank account has been verified. To find out more please call the IPS team on 0845 272 0089*
