Select the "Register" link on the homepage

Choose what type of account you want to register with
There are links on the page to give you details of what accounts are "eligible accounts" and what to do if your "account isn't listed"
After selecting your account type select "Begin registration" to continue
Register for Internet Banking - Enter your details
You will be asked for some simple details about your account and about you.
As you select the boxes help appear to guide you through.
After you have completed your details, please read the "Terms and Conditions" and select the "Continue" button to proceed.

You will be asked to enter 3 items of memorable data.
After you have completed your memorable data, select the "Continue" button to proceed
Registration Successful
The confirmation message will tell you what happens next. We'll send you everything you need to get started in the post within a few days; as you have these you can start managing your accounts online
If, for any reason we are unable to register you, we'll let you know what you need to do next

Welcome to your new internet bank
The Overview page gives you a clear view of the accounts you hold with Nationwide
The tabs at the top of each screen allow you to easily find your way around
We've included a "Related services" section which makes further information easy to find
There are quick links to the things customers do most frequently
Clicking on an account name will show you the transactions for that account
Benefits - Statements
You have control over the display of your statements through filtering or sorting your transactions
You can find copies of your paper statements for up to 36 months in your statement archive
Benefits - Calendar
You have a calendar view of transactions, making it easier to track your spending through the month

Compare income against your spending

Move money and manage payments
The Move money section allows you to move your money around, either transferring between your own accounts or making payments to other people and organisations
A Quick transfer tool is available for you to instantly move money between your own Nationwide accounts
Manage my details & settings
Manage my details & settings section allows you to change settings such as your address and phone number, email address. You can also "Go paperless" with your statements, rename your accounts or order a new card reader

The Browse area gives you information about products we offer
You can view any offers that may be of interest to you
Access any quotes you've had, or applications that you have started
If you are looking for a new product, our Browse products section will give you details of the range of products available

Using statements
Overview of accounts
The Overview of accounts page will give you a summary of all your accounts grouped together under simple to read headings
You can easily access things you wish to do on the account through the quick links next to each account. This will list the common activities you may wish to do
The Related services section shows you links that will help you navigate quickly to other areas of the bank. These will change as you explore different areas of the bank to make them relevant to what you are looking at
Click on one of your accounts to access your statement for that account
Mini statement
The mini statement gives you a summary of (up to) your last 12 transactions on the account you selected
Further transactions are available either from the Full Statement link on the left, or the link underneath your transactions
Full statement
The Full statement lets you easily view up to 15 months of transactions on your account
There are 3 quick link buttons covering Last month, Last 3 months and Last 6 months
You can choose your own dates by selecting Enter dates
The dates are clearly displayed to show the range you have selected
You also have control over how you want to display your transactions through Filtering transactions, where you can choose which transactions to display
or you can use the sorting icons next to the headings on the table to change the order your transactions are displayed in
Calendar
The Calendar shows all your previous transactions in an easy to use date view
You can also see any upcoming regular payments or future dated single payments
Use the "Previous" and "Next" buttons to move between different months
Selecting "Show more" on individual days will reveal all transactions for that day
Selecting the "Expand to show all transactions" box, will show all hidden transactions for that month
Graph - Paid out vs. Paid in
The Paid in vs. Paid out page shows you a graph of how much money you have paid into or withdrawn from your account
The buttons above the chart change the date range of the graph from 14 months, down to just the current month
The graph information in a table link below the graph gives you a table view of the information contained in the graph
Clicking on the bar will open a pie chart giving you a further breakdown of the total and hover over the sections to give you more information
Graph - Balance over time
The Balance over time graph shows how your balance has changed over a period of time
The buttons above the chart change the date range of the graph from 14 months, down to just the current month
The graph information in a table link below the graph gives you a table view of the information contained in the graph
For time periods up to 3 months, balances from the end of each day will be displayed. For time periods over 3 months we will show the balance from the end of each week
Statement archive
You can view and print your statements and annual summary in PDF format
If you do not have Adobe Acrobat installed, you can install it by selecting the Adobe Acrobat link
You can select previous years (up to 36 months) by using the drop down box and selecting the View button
Interest and tax paid
You can view interest and tax paid on your accounts from the "Other account services" area
You can use this information to complete your tax return without needing to request a Section 975 certificate
Manage my details
My personal details
You can access My personal details from the "Manage my details & settings" tab
You can view and update contact details we hold for you, and change your marketing preferences. These determine how we contact you about our products and services
Select the links next to the details you would like to change. You can change some of these online, for the others we will give you the form you need to complete
Change address
The "View and change" link will give you access to view and change your address online if you have a card reader (alternatively a form will be available)
My Personal details
If you want to change the address shown, click "change" and enter the new details
Choose the radio button for either "UK address", "Foreign address" or "BFPO address
Entering your property name/number and postcode and selecting Find address will automatically find your full address, alternatively you can enter it manually. Finally, enter a date if you would like it to be updated on a specific date. Once you select "update address" your details will be updated within a couple of days

Home page
Select the button on nationwide.co.uk to enter the Internet Bank
Log in to the Internet Bank
Type in your customer number (This is the number you were sent after registering)
Log in using your Card Reader
The Internet Bank will know if you use a card reader and you'll see this screen with instructions
Insert your card into your card reader
Press the identify button
Enter your PIN and press OK (This is the PIN you use to withdraw cash at an ATM)
Your card reader will give you a passcode. Enter it here
If details entered correctly, selecting the Log in button will take you to your accounts
If you don't have your card reader you can still log in with your memorable data

Select the "Log in" button on nationwide.co.uk
Log in to the Internet Bank
Type in your customer number (This is the number you were sent after registering)
Enter your security information
Enter one item of memorable data you chose when you registered for Internet Banking
Use the 3 drop down lists to enter the digits from your pass number
Selecting the Log in button will take you to your accounts
Security challenge using a card reader
Authorisation required
When completing transactions you may be asked to use your card reader as authorisation
Select the card you wish to use from the drop down list and pop the card in your card reader
When asked to "Select Function" press the Sign button on your card reader
Enter the ref detailed on the screen
Enter the amount detailed on the screen
Your card reader will display a passcode, enter this in the passcode box
Select the "Authorise" button, if details are entered correctly your transaction will be confirmed

Make a payment
Move money and manage payments
We've created a whole section for moving money, either transferring between your own accounts or making payments to other people and organisations
The Quick transfer tool is still available for you to instantly move money between your own Nationwide accounts
You can make payments using the Pay a bill or send money to someone section. Just select Single or Regular payment
Who would you like to pay?
Select who you would like pay. In this example we will select "A new person or organisation" and select Continue

You will be asked details of who you would like to pay. If it is a large organisation you can pick from a list or use the search

Make a single payment - How much would you like to pay?
You need to enter how much you would like to pay
When you would like it paid (entering a date if it is in the future)
and then select "Continue"

Before your payment is made, you are required to check and confirm the payment details you've set up
If you notice a mistake you can select the "Previous" button to go back and change the details
Alternatively you can select "Cancel" if you decide you don't want to proceed with making the payment
If everything is okay, you can select "Confirm"

You will get confirmation that your payment has been sent
You also have a list of quick links of things you may want to do next
The details of the payee will be saved for you in the "Manage Payees" section and you can check and amend them at any time
Manage payments
Move money and manage payments
We've created a whole section for moving money, either transferring between your own accounts or making payments to other people and organisations
The Quick transfer tool is still available for you to instantly move money between Nationwide accounts
The Manage payees section contains details of all the people and organisations you have made payments to. You can view and edit their details, delete payees and add new ones. Selecting Go will take you into the section Other information

Manage payees details all the payees you have on your account, including single, regular and Direct Debits
Use the drop-down lists to work with your payees - you can make a payment, change a payee or cancel a payee

You can change Name of the payee, the description or the reference
After you are happy with your changes select "Continue"

You will be asked to check and confirm the details you've entered
If you notice a mistake you can select the "Previous" button to go back and amend it, otherwise you can select "Confirm"

You will get confirmation that your payee details have now been changed

Cancel Direct Debit - Manage payees
Cancelling existing Direct Debits can be found on the Manage Payee's page
To cancel a Direct Debit you have set up, find the payment and select the "Cancel this Direct Debit" button

You will be given information about when your cancellation will take effect. Selecting "Yes" will cancel your Direct Debit
Amend a future payment - Upcoming payments
The Upcoming payments section shows single and regular payments that you have arranged for the future. It does not show upcoming direct debits as these vary depending on your arrangement with the payee
You can change upcoming payments by using the drop down box in the Actions column

You can amend the amount and date then select the "Continue" button

You will be asked to check the details. You can use the "Previous" button if you have made a mistake, alternatively select "Confirm"

You will get confirmation if your change is successful
Reinstate skipped payment
If you have opted to skip a payment details will be shown in the status column on the Upcoming payments page
If you wish to reinstate it you can select "Reinstate payment" from the drop down box next to the payment and select "Go"

You need to confirm that you want to reinstate the payment detailed and if correct select "Yes"

You will get a confirmation message at the top of the page confirming that your payment has been reinstated
Re-invest my bond
View reinvestment options
If you have a Bond that has matured you will find details of the date of maturity on the Overview of accounts page
You can review your reinvestment options by choosing this in the drop down box next to the account and selecting the "Go" button

You will have several reinvestment options with your maturing Bond
These are: Reinvest the current balance in a new bond, Top up and reinvest in a new Bond, Withdraw some funds and reinvest the remainder in a new Bond (does not apply to maturing branch bonds) or Leave the balance in your Maturity account

If you choose to top up your e-bond you will be asked for details of which account you would like to transfer the additional funds from and how much you would like to add
Once you've completed these, you can select the "Continue" button
Withdraw some funds and Reinvest
If you choose to withdraw some funds before you reinvest your e-bond you will be asked for details of which account you would like to transfer the funds to and how much you would like to withdraw
Once you've completed these, you can select the "Continue" button
Leave the balance in your Maturity account
If you choose to leave the balance in your Maturity account, you will get confirmation of your choice and details of how to reinvest at a later date

When you opt to reinvest your matured Bond, top up or withdraw some funds you will be given a choice of Bonds available, with details of each one. Choose a new Bond by clicking on "Select" next to the account you wish to reinvest in
Selecting the "Confirm" button will take you through to the next step in the process

If applicable, you will get the option to select the account for your interest to be paid to
Then select the "Continue" button

You will be asked to check the details and confirm you have read and agreed to the Bond terms and conditions
You can select the "Previous" button if you want to make any changes. Selecting the "Confirm" button will action your request
