Getting Started

We want to make sure you and your PC are ready to go and get the most out of our Internet Banking services so we’ve developed this simple checklist to help you sail through registration and start banking online straight away.

  • To register you need to tell us your name, date of birth, address, and a Nationwide account number. Your sign on details will arrive in the post within 3-5 days.
  • You can view all of your Nationwide accounts except the following: business accounts, commercial mortgages, discontinued personal accounts, personal loans, investment and protection products, insurance products.
  • If you have a joint account with someone you’ll need to register separately to view both your joint and sole accounts, and activate individual e-products.
  • To ensure your PC meets our minimum set up standards, Run an instant assessment of the PC and browser you’re currently using.
  • In addition to our secure sign on, we give you an extra layer of protection when you carry out certain transactions online in the form of Card Reader Security or Security questions. This depends on what account facilities you have. Visit our Security Centre to find out what additional security measures apply to you, and how you can keep your PC and your money secure.
  • We recommend you sign on straight away and don’t leave your sign on details lying around. If you think you’ll find it difficult to remember your memorable data and or passnumber without writing it down, you can change it after the first time you sign on to something more memorable to you.   • Read our Internet Banking Terms & Conditions of use as when you register you agree to be bound by these.
  • Registering does not automatically open an e-product, you need to activate one when you sign on. Find out how to do this using our online demos.
