Nationwide no longer sells travel insurance, provided by Liverpool Victoria Insurance Company Limited (LV=) for you to buy.

As part of our range of exclusive offers for FlexAccount customers, we are now offering free European multi-trip travel cover to all qualifying customers.

Why has Nationwide stopped selling travel insurance?

We are no longer offering travel insurance for you to buy as many customers are now eligible for free travel cover on their FlexAccount.

I have an existing Nationwide travel policy, provided by LV=, what does this mean for me?

LV= will continue to service your existing Nationwide travel policy until it expires.

If you have an annual multi-trip policy you will be sent a renewal notice at least 21 days before your renewal date, so you can review the premium for the year ahead. Your policy will continue to be administered and underwritten by Liverpool Victoria Insurance Company (LV=) as it is at present; however, it will no longer be a Nationwide policy and will change to be an LV= branded policy.

I got a quote for travel insurance and I now want to purchase, what should I do?

If you got a quote before 1 November 2011 your quote will be valid for 30 days and you can still buy the policy.

If you wish to accept the quote and you either applied and saved your quote online or applied over the phone, please call 0800 756 8900.

What travel insurance options are now available through Nationwide?

Use our current account, FlexAccount, as your main current account, and you could get access to a range of exclusive offers and discounts including free European travel insurance. This benefit was introduced in August 2010 for all qualifying FlexAccount customers.

To qualify for free European travel insurance, all you have to do is:

  • hold a FlexAccount with a Visa debit card (not cash card+)
  • agree to an Account Transfer from an account (non Nationwide) using our Account Transfer Service
  • be aged 18-73
  • to maintain free FlexAccount European travel cover, you must credit £750 or more each month into your FlexAccount (excluding internal transfers)
  • We will review your cover once per year

However, that’s only European travel insurance. What about worldwide cover?

Qualifying customers can easily upgrade the policy to provide worldwide, family or winter sports cover although charges will apply. Customers need to call our Nationwide FlexAccount travel cover helpline on 0845 246 1692 for a quote.

How do I make a complaint about my Nationwide Travel insurance provided by LV=?

Nationwide hope you will not have cause to complain. However, should a situation arise and you would like to do so, please call LV= on 0845 640 5930 or write to:
