How to upgrade

If you are eligible for free FlexAccount Travel Cover you will already be benefitting from the standard level of cover.

You can also choose ‘Top up’ options for your free FlexAccount Travel Cover for an additional premium. Any changes that you make to your policy can be made with immediate effect.

You can upgrade your cover in 4 ways:

Cover your family

  • Family cover: If you are planning a family holiday the family cover upgrade option extends your cover to include your spouse / partner and children (whether they be under 18 and permanently residing with you or under 21 and in full-time education).

Travel outside of Europe

  • Worldwide cover: If you are planning to travel outside of Europe (see the policy document for details) then upgrade your policy to Worldwide cover.

Cover a specific trip

  • Extended trip cover: If you are planning a long holiday or extended trip past 31 days you can upgrade your cover for holidays (extended trip cover is not available for winter sports).
  • Hazardous activities cover: Not all activities are automatically covered. Please refer to your policy document for clarity and details of how to upgrade.
  • Winter sports
  • Business cover
  • Golf cover
  • Wedding cover

You may also extend your policy to cover the following

  • Age extension: If you are not within the age limits as outlined in the eligibility section of the policy document but are 79 or under, UK Insurance Limited† may be able to provide cover. Call them on 0845 246 1692 to get a quote.
  • Excess waiver: With an excess waiver upgrade you will not have to pay the standard policy excess in event of a claim (except for excesses relating to business equipment / money and golf equipment).

Please note: If you call UK Insurance Limited† to upgrade your cover, they won't issue documents containing the names of the insured unless a medical condition is disclosed to them, then under the Disability Discrimination Act they will write to the person with that condition.
