It’s here! Our new improved Banking app

Our Banking app now makes banking on the go even better. We’ve listened to your feedback, improved some of our most popular features and developed some brand new ones.

New features checklist

  • Works just as well on a tablet as on a smartphone if you’re using a device that is compatible with iOS or Android™
  • Quick log–in option for Apple users with Touch ID*
  • Manage your personal settings on the go – update your email address, your balance text alerts and paperless settings
  • Emergency help information now also available without logging in
  • Easier log–in for those of you using a passnumber
  • Get a visual snapshot of how your income compares to your spending
  • Search up to 15 months' statement history on your current account and credit card.

All this plus a fresh new look and feel.

We’ve focused on making it as easy as possible

Without logging in to the app, you can still check your balance or use Impulse saver to move money from your Nationwide current account to your savings account.

But when you need to, logging in is now easier too. On the latest Apple devices you can do so using Touch ID*. It’s not just straightforward, it’s as simple as the touch of your finger.

If you use a passnumber to log in, we no longer ask you to put in your numbers in some random sequence; we ask for them sequentially making it easier for you to remember them. It's a small change but it could make a difference for you!

More help with managing your money

We’ve also introduced some brand new features designed to help you stay on top of your money. One of which is that you can now search through 15 months of past statements.

You can also manage your personal settings on the app – for example updating your email address and personal greeting, or changing your text alert settings to include high and low balance alerts.

How do I get it?

Just a couple of things to bear in mind:

  • You must have an iPhone or Android mobile phone or tablet that can connect to the internet

  • You must be registered for our Internet Bank.

  • When you start using our app (unless you have Touch ID*) you’ll need to know your Internet Banking passnumber. If you’ve forgotten it, don’t worry you can get a new one when you log into our Internet Bank. Just go to ‘manage my details and settings’ and click on ‘change my passnumber’.

Keeping you connected to your money

Once upon a time (1997 to be exact) Nationwide was the first provider to offer internet banking in the UK. More recently, we’ve brought you Apple Pay, Android Pay™ and Quick Balance for Apple Watch. These latest improvements we’ve made to our Banking app are just another sign of our commitment to keep listening and keep doing all we can to make your life easier. We hope you like them.
