Based on research from Nationwide Credit Cards, we take a peek at the decades of design from the fifties to the noughties and examine the trends for home improvements right now.

Find out what's important to the people of the UK when it comes to home improvements, what we can't live without to get them and what it's costs us on an emotional level.

The research was conducted on behalf of Nationwide by Vital Statistics & sampled 2,000 UK adults. The figures have been weighted and are representative of all UK adults (aged 18+). The survey ran from 17 – 21 March 2016.
