Nationwide AGM vote raises funds for Shelter

This year, Nationwide is proud to be celebrating 14 years of supporting Shelter, the housing and homelessness charity.

Like Shelter, we believe that everyone should have somewhere they can call home. And as the UK’s third largest mortgage providers, we’re committed to helping people into homes of their own.

Your vote raises vital funds

In 2012 we launched a special four-year initiative, aiming to raise £1 million for Shelter and help 16,000 families find somewhere to call home. And we’re pleased to say you’re helping us reach our target!

At our AGM this year, we donated 20p to Shelter for every vote you cast, and 20p for everyone who chose to receive their AGM materials by email. Together, the donations added up to over £171,000.

That money will make a huge difference to people struggling with bad housing and homelessness. It will support vital facilities like Shelter’s free national helpline, which provides support and advice to people across the UK.

Please support our Christmas appeal

Homelessness can happen to anyone. At a time when many people are struggling to make ends meet, losing a job or a serious illness could be all it takes to tip many of us into a spiral that could end in homelessness.

Your donation today could help a family back into housing:

  • £2 could help a family about to lose their home
  • £25 could help answer calls for one hour, helping families that have been threatened with eviction
  • £50 could help answer calls for two hours, helping parents who have lost their jobs and are worried about mortgage repayments.

Please support our Christmas appeal this year – make a donation to Shelter today.
