In branch

We have over 650 Nationwide branches across the UK.

At a branch you can do the following:

Pay cash and cheques into your account

You can pay cash and cheques into your account at any Nationwide branch. Cash paid into your account will be available to withdraw instantly. However cheques paid into your account will take longer to be available. If you deposit cash and/or cheques at a Nationwide cash machine there may be a delay of one working day for the funds to be credited to your account.

If you're paying in cash to cover a bill payment, cheque or direct debit, please ensure you pay your money in the working day before the payment is due.

Withdraw cash and cheques

As long as you have enough in your account you can withdraw up to £500 a day at your local branch. If you need more than £500, please give your branch at least 48 hours notice. (Your request may take up to 72 hours - but we recommend checking with your branch beforehand).

Pay your bills

You can arrange to pay bills and transfer money at any Nationwide branch. You will only be able to pay bills at our branch counters (except payments to Nationwide, for example, payments to your Nationwide credit card) if you have set up an electronic Bill Payment. For information on how to do this please see our Online Banking Demo.

Transfer money

You can do this at any Nationwide branch.

Cash machines

As long as you have enough in your account you can withdraw up to £300 a day using a cash machine.

Our cash machines allow you to do much more than just withdraw cash, all available free of charge. Use our Branch Finder to find your nearest cash machine.

FAST cash machines

Our FAST cash machines and Selfserve tills are available in many of our branches and can be used to manage your card account.

With a FAST cash machine you can do the following:

Pay in cash instantly

Cash you pay in using the FAST and Selfserve tills is immediately available as cleared funds on your account. You can pay in up to 30 notes at a time up to a value of £2,500 a day.

If you're paying in cash to cover a bill payment, cheque or direct debit, please ensure you pay your money in the working day before the payment is due.

Pay in cheques

You can pay cheques into your account using the FAST and Selfserve tills up to a limit of £2,000 per individual cheque. You can pay multiple cheques in through the FAST cash machines up to the value of £50,000. If your cheque exceeds either limit, you can deposit it at the branch counter.

Pay your bills

You can pay your bills at all of our cash machines. To do this you just need to set up the account or company you want to pay and the amount using Internet Banking.

Print a mini-statement

You can print out your most recent transactions from any of our cash machines.

Change your PIN

If you would like to change your PIN to a number that is easy for you to remember, you can do so at any Nationwide cash machine. Remember, you should never write your PIN down or tell anyone else the number.

Top up your mobile phone

It's easy and quick to add credit to your mobile phone using any Nationwide branch cash machine. You only need your card and the phone number of the phone you would like to top-up.
