Overdrafts

The convenience of an overdraft just when you need it

When you open a FlexAccount, you'll also be able to apply for an overdraft 18.9% EAR (variable) to help you manage your money. You can use it as and when you need it, and you can apply to change your limit once your account is open.

First time charge refund
We can all slip up sometimes and lose track of our outgoings and go over our agreed limits. So the first time you let us know you've made a mistake, we'll refund your unarranged overdraft fees incurred after 31st August 2011.

Refund of charges when you switch to Nationwide

Switching your current account can be a daunting task, that's why we do all the hard work for you...

  • Our dedicated account transfer team will move all your direct debits, standing orders and bill payments
  • We will refund any Nationwide overdraft charges and interest incurred due to an error in the transfer process, in the three months following the start of your account transfer. Conditions apply

Representative Example:

If you have an agreed overdraft of £1,200 the interest rate we will charge you is 18.9% EAR (variable).

If you've already got a FlexAccount and want to apply or change your limit, all you need to do is:

  • sign on to the Internet Bank
  • visit your local Nationwide branch
  • or call us on 08457 30 20 10

We will tell you straight away if we have accepted your request and for what amount. In some circumstances we may need to consider the request further which can take up to 48 hours.

It is important to get our agreement to an overdraft. Use of unauthorised overdrafts result in higher interest and charges.
