Apply for a current account online

Apply for a Nationwide FlexAccount in 4 easy steps, in most cases we will give you an instant decision:

  1. Start Application: The application takes about 10 minutes to complete and includes the option to switch all your Direct Debits and standing orders to your new FlexAccount.
  2. Receive decision and confirm: In most cases* we'll let you know instantly the account facilities you'll receive, such as Visa debit card, chequebook or overdraft.
  3. Register for internet banking: After confirming your facilities, you will be given the opportunity to register for internet banking.
  4. What happens next: If your application is successful, you'll receive notification within the next 3-5 working days.
Nationwide debit card

    You will need:

  • address details for the last 3 years
  • employment details i.e. employer's name and address
  • sort code and account number of your current bank/building society (if applicable)
