How to apply for a Nationwide FlexAccount

You'll need your:

• sortcode and account number of your current bank/building society (if applicable) 
• employment details i.e. employer's name and address
• address details for the last 3 years
• National Insurance number.

The first form in your application registers you for Nationwide's Internet Banking service, then you'll need to complete the current account application form - don't worry, they're both quite short, and will only take about 10 minutes to complete.

We can transfer your Direct Debits and standing orders for you. During your application you can choose for all your Direct Debits and standing orders to be transferred by us. Alternatively you can ask for a list of your payments and choose which you'd like to transfer.

We'll let you know instantly the account facilities you'll receive, such as a Visa debit card, cheque book or overdraft. You'll then just need to click to confirm if you'd like to continue with your application.

Please note, if you are applying during the night (11pm – 6am) we'll have to get back to you with the decision and account facilities we can offer you. We will send out your decision in the post approximately 5 business days after receiving your application.

Within the next few days you'll receive a form to sign – just return this to us and we'll finish off setting up your account.

As you've already registered for our Internet Banking service we'll automatically send your log on details and electronic card reader.
