Mark has enjoyed various positions within the finance industry with particular experience in company acquisitions, business development and project management. Since joining Nationwide in 1994, Mark has been both a Finance Director and Managing Director of several subsidiaries before being appointed as Divisional Director of Nationwide Commercial in 2003.

He graduated from Sheffield University in 1984 and joined Price Waterhouse where he qualified as a chartered accountant in 1988. More recently he completed a diploma in Leadership with Exeter University.

Following 3 years with National Westminster Bank, Mark joined Nationwide in 1985 and enjoyed several management roles across the London retail network. He then switched to Commercial Division in 1991 as a Property Finance Manager and progressed to lead departments in Syndicated Lending and Structured Property Finance.

In 2006 he was appointed as Head of Structured Property Finance.

Mark joined Nationwide's retail network in 1980 and moved to the Commercial Division in 1990, specialising in Housing Association lending.

From 2002 he has headed the Housing Finance team with responsibility for spearheading the UK's leading lender to the affordable housing sector.
