The majority of Group employees are members of the Nationwide Pension Fund. The Group operates both Final Salary and Career Average Revalued Earnings defined benefit arrangements. We have recently introduced a defined contribution pension scheme for all new starters with an employer contribution of 4%. After 2 years service the employer contribution rate rises to 8%, with the possibility of a further 3% from the employer through AVC matching. Our Brainwaves employee suggestion scheme also rewards ideas contributing to the business and has received 50,000 suggestions from employees since it began.
