Length of service
Over two-thirds of our employees have worked for Nationwide for five or more years, reflecting our strategy to retain our most experienced and talented employees. We retained 100% of those who joined our graduate programme in 2006/07. See more data on length of service.
In 2006/07 voluntary turnover was 8.65% against a goal for 2005/06 of 8% and voluntary short service turnover was 22.69% against a target for 2005/06 of 20%. Our goal for the forthcoming year is a voluntary turnover of 8.5% and short service turnover of 22.5%.
Absence rate
In 2006/07 we had a 2.23% sickness absence rate (as a percentage of lost working time). Our goal for 2007/08 is 3.25%.
